COCKTAIL RECIPE SUBMISSION TERMS
These Cocktail Recipe Submission & Publication Terms form part of the UK Bartenders’ Guild Membership Terms & Conditions and apply to the submission, review, publication, promotion, and retention of cocktail recipes submitted to UK Bartenders’ Guild Ltd ("UKBG", "the Guild", "we", "us").
By submitting a cocktail recipe to UKBG, you acknowledge and agree to the terms set out below.
1. Eligibility
1.1 Only individuals holding an active Annual Premium Membership or Honorary Membership at the time of submission are eligible to submit cocktail recipes for consideration.
1.2 Standard Members and directory plan holders (including Essential and Platinum directory plans) are not eligible to submit recipes.
2. Originality and Authorship
2.1 By submitting a recipe, the member confirms that the recipe is their own original work and does not infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party.
2.2 UKBG reserves the right to reject or remove any recipe where originality is disputed or cannot be reasonably demonstrated.
3. Review and Approval
3.1 All submitted recipes are subject to review by the UKBG Board or an appointed review panel.
3.2 Approval is granted at the Guild’s sole discretion. UKBG may approve, request changes to, or decline any submission without obligation to publish.
3.3 Where a recipe is declined, UKBG may (but is not required to) provide feedback.
4. Ownership and Licence
4.1 The submitting member retains full ownership of their recipe.
4.2 By submitting a recipe, the member grants UKBG a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free, worldwide licence to:

publish, host, display and distribute the recipe;

reproduce the recipe in digital and printed formats;

promote the recipe across UKBG platforms, communications, social media and partner channels.
4.3 This licence applies for the duration of the member’s active Premium or Honorary Membership unless otherwise specified below.
5. Duration, Removal and Permanent Publication
5.1 Where a member’s Premium Membership lapses or is cancelled, any associated recipes may be removed from publication at the Guild’s discretion.
5.2 Recipes submitted as part of UKBG competitions or formally designated by the UKBG Board as Permanent Approved Recipes may remain published indefinitely, regardless of membership status.
5.3 UKBG reserves the right to archive or remove any recipe where continued publication is no longer appropriate or consistent with Guild standards.
6. Attribution and Credits
6.1 Where published, recipes will normally be credited to the submitting member, including their name and workplace as provided.
6.2 UKBG reserves the right to edit formatting, presentation and accompanying text for consistency and clarity without altering the core content of the recipe.
7. UKBG Approved Repertoire and Marks
7.1 Inclusion within the UKBG Approved Repertoire is a professional distinction awarded at the discretion of the UKBG Board.
7.2 Where applicable, approved recipes may be associated with UKBG marks, insignia or designations. Such use does not transfer ownership of the marks.
7.3 Members may not use UKBG logos, collective marks or approval badges in connection with their recipe without express written permission from the UKBG Board.
8. Breach and Withdrawal
8.1 UKBG reserves the right to remove recipes and withdraw publication privileges where a member breaches the Membership Terms & Conditions or these Recipe Submission Terms.
8.2 Removal of a recipe does not give rise to any right to compensation or refund.
9. Relationship to Other Policies
These Recipe Submission & Publication Terms form part of, and should be read together with, the UKBG Membership Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. In the event of any inconsistency, the Membership Terms & Conditions shall prevail.
