Premium Membership (Paid – Monthly or Annual)

Premium Membership provides access to the enhanced portfolio of community benefits described on the UKBG website, which may include:

  • Digital membership card and UKBG pin

  • Access to training and educational content

  • Priority or discounted access to selected events and competitions

Honorary Membership (By invitation)

Honorary Membership is awarded at the discretion of the UKBG Board to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to the Guild. Honorary Members receive Premium benefits without charge. The Guild reserves the right to withdraw Honorary Membership where these Terms are breached.

2.2 Directory Plans (Commercial Services)

Directory plans are commercial listing services and do not constitute community membership.

Essential Directory Plan (Free)

The Essential Directory Plan allows a basic listing within the UKBG directory. It provides visibility only of the information submitted for the listing and confers no additional Guild privileges.

Platinum Directory Plan (Paid – Annual)

The Platinum Directory Plan provides enhanced directory visibility and promotional features as described on the UKBG website.

Directory plans:

  • Exist solely for the purpose of directory inclusion

  • Do not provide community membership rights

  • Do not confer voting rights, professional status, endorsement or representation of the Guild

  • Do not provide access to events, competitions, training, wellness platforms or recipe submissions unless expressly stated

3. Directory Listings – Approval and Responsibility

3.1 Approval. All directory listings are subject to review. UKBG reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to decline, suspend or remove any listing that is incomplete, inaccurate, misleading, inappropriate, unlawful or inconsistent with the Guild’s values.

3.2 Accuracy and updates. The listing owner is solely responsible for ensuring that all listing information remains accurate and up to date. UKBG is not responsible for monitoring or correcting listing content.

3.3 No verification or endorsement. UKBG does not verify claims, offers, discounts, availability or services advertised within directory listings. Inclusion in the directory does not constitute endorsement or recommendation by UKBG.

4. Payments, Renewal, Downgrades and Refunds

4.1 Auto‑renewal. All paid memberships and directory plans renew automatically unless the payment method is cancelled prior to the renewal date.

4.2 Cancellation of payment. Cancelling the payment method results in cancellation of the associated membership or directory plan. Access ceases immediately upon cancellation or failed payment.

4.3 Downgrade. Where a Platinum Directory Plan payment is cancelled or fails, the listing will be downgraded to an Essential Directory Plan unless the listing owner requests full cancellation.

4.4 No refunds. Except during the statutory fourteen (14) day cooling‑off period (and only where no paid benefits have been used), fees are non‑refundable. No refunds are provided for partial periods, time used or cancelled subscriptions.

4.5 Reinstatement. Reinstatement following cancellation or downgrade is at the sole discretion of the UKBG team and is not guaranteed.

5. Cooling‑Off Period

A fourteen (14) day cooling‑off period applies to first‑time paid purchases. Cancellation within this period is eligible for a refund, provided no paid services have been activated or used. Where services have commenced, no refund will be issued. You must contact the UKBG team at the email adress: info@ukbartendersguild.co.uk to request your refund.

6. Use of UKBG Name, Logo and Reputation

6.1 Directory participation does not grant any right to use UKBG logos, trademarks or branding or to represent an affiliation beyond factual inclusion in the directory.

6.2 Members and directory participants must not imply endorsement, partnership or official representation without written authorisation from the UKBG Board.

6.3 Misuse of UKBG branding or reputation may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund.

7. Conduct and Representation

Community members are expected to act professionally and in line with the Nolan Principles of Public Life when engaging with UKBG activities.

Directory plan holders do not represent UKBG and must not present themselves as Guild representatives.

The Guild reserves the right to suspend or terminate access where conduct is damaging, unlawful or inconsistent with these Terms.

8. Events, Media and Publications

UKBG events and activities may be photographed or recorded for promotional, educational and archival purposes. Attendance constitutes consent to such use, subject to reasonable requests made in advance to opt out where practicable.

9. Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with the UKBG Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. Copies are available on the UKBG website.

10. Liability

Participation in UKBG services is at the participant’s own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, UKBG shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts or omissions of third‑party providers. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be lawfully excluded.

11. Termination

UKBG may suspend or terminate any membership or directory plan for breach of these Terms or related policies. Upon termination, access to services ceases immediately. No refunds are payable except where required by law.

12. Changes to These Terms

UKBG may amend these Terms, pricing and benefits at any time. Updated versions will be published on the UKBG website. Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Generally speaking, T&C often address these types of issues: Who is allowed to use the website; the possible payment methods; a declaration that the website owner may change his or her offering in the future; the types of warranties the website owner gives his or her customers; a reference to issues of intellectual property or copyrights, where relevant; the website owner’s right to suspend or cancel a member’s account; and much much more.
