UK Bartenders’ Guild Ltd ("UKBG", "we", "our", "us") takes the protection of personal data seriously and is committed to complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect personal data in connection with UKBG membership, the UKBG directory and related services.

UKBG does not store payment card or banking details. All payments are processed by secure third‑party payment providers.
3. Lawful Basis for Processing
UKBG processes personal data in accordance with Article 6 of UK GDPR on the following lawful bases:

Performance of a contract: to administer UKBG membership, manage directory listings, and provide benefits associated with Essential, Premium or Platinum membership.

Legitimate interests: to communicate with members about UKBG activities, events and organisational updates, and to document and promote UKBG events.

Consent: where personal data is shared with sponsors or partners, consent will be obtained in advance and may be withdrawn at any time.
4. Membership and Directory Services
4.1 Directory visibility

The name of a venue, brand or product listed in the directory is publicly visible on the UKBG website.

Discounts and expanded listing details are accessible only to logged‑in Premium / Platinum members.
Directory listings are provided as part of Premium membership services.
4.2 Expiry of listings
Upon expiry or cancellation of membership, directory listings are removed from public visibility on the UKBG website.
5. Wellness Platform (Premium Members)
Premium membership includes access to the restore wellness platform operated by The Drinks Trust.
To provide this service, UKBG shares limited account information with The Drinks Trust solely for the purpose of enabling access. UKBG manually inputs this data and acts as the licensor. The data is not used for any other purpose.
Requests to remove personal data from the wellness platform must be submitted by email.
6. Membership Cancellation and Data Erasure
Cancellation of membership results in immediate termination of membership status and associated benefits. Cancellation does not automatically result in the deletion of personal data.
Members may exercise their right to erasure by submitting a written request by email. UKBG will respond to valid data removal requests within 30 days.
7. Data Retention

Personal data of active members is retained for the duration of their membership.

Following termination of membership, data may be retained for administrative, legal and record‑keeping purposes.

Inactive member records may be reviewed and removed at the discretion of the UKBG Board of Directors, particularly where no activity has occurred for a period of three (3) years or more.

Personal data will be deleted earlier where a valid erasure request is received.
8. Photography, Video and Publications
8.1 Events
UKBG events may be photographed or recorded for promotional, educational and communications purposes. If a member does not wish to appear in images or recordings, they should notify UKBG staff at the event.
8.2 Recipes and credits
UKBG may publish cocktail recipes submitted by members on its platforms and social media channels. Where applicable, the bartender’s name and workplace will be credited.
9. Data Security
UKBG implements appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including controlled access to systems, secure platforms and restricted access for authorised personnel only.
UKBG does not sell personal data and does not disclose it without a lawful basis.

Individuals have the right to:
