RECAP: UKBG at Cocktails in the City July with Ryukyu 1429 & MZero

This Summer, we partnered with Authentic Ryukyu Awamori, RYUKYU1429 and Amaro MZero for Cocktails in the City, Drinks Trust’s annual fundraising series to support their benevolence work in the hospitality industry. This year’s theme was the ‘World of Cocktails’ in which each zone of the festival is dedicated to a different country.

We built the ‘Japanese Village’ – palm trees, ocean breeze and the flavours of Okinawa and Calabria with a menu of cocktails made with Authentic Ryukyu Awamori, RYUKYU1429 and Amaro MZero.

Giulio Amodio, Bar Manager of the iconic China Tang at the Dorchester Hotel, RYUKYU1429’s Global Brand Ambassador, and owner of Amaro MZero, was our Head Barman, and mixologist behind our menu. As well as serving up every day of the festival, he also gave a series of talks focussing on Japanese spirit categories and beverage culture, the history of Awamori – and how it’s flavour profile can be used in a great many recipes.
